"My amazing journey into the Sacred Mysteries began on April 4, 2002, when I was astrally initiated into the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn. I remember wondering if I would detect any real changes, and boy was I surprised. While meditating on the night of my initiation, I became aware of a definite shift in my consciousness, but I couldn't really put my finger on it. That night, I had some of the most amazing dreams that only became clear when I walked through my physical initiation at Power Week 2002. It was at that moment that I KNEW that my astral initiation was as real as any initiation physical or otherwise.

Over the next few years, I had receive two more initiations astrally and two physically at the Temple of Isis Mighty Mother. With each initiation, I received an influx of spiritual current and purpose that propelled me closer to my Higher Genius. "I joined the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn in early 2003. I remember my excitement when I spoke to the person who was then the Heirophant at the Grand temple in Europe, just before my Astral Initiation.
I had been searching for an order with a genuine 'feel' to it for many years. I discovered the existence of the Golden Dawn when aged 15 and I had been a solitary practitioner of magic I had done a postal magical course and some other training as well as a lot of reading. Then, in 2002 I felt a burning fire inside me, a need to find a real Order. A search on the internet one day in 2002 led me to it. I looked at various Golden Dawn sites, and read the. there was a lot of information and history of the Golden Dawn, nice pictures and web graphics and it was interesting up to a point. Then I came upon the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn. I felt an immediate sense of energy from it, and real magic; I felt immediately that they held the true lineage.

My Astral Initiation was nothing short of amazing. I had a dramatic and beautiful experience with many images of Ancient Egyptian gods and wearing the robes of a Priest. I could feel a sense of death of my earthly ways and rebirth into a brilliant light. It was hard to explain and unexpected. When I returned to my daily awareness, I felt exhilarated and full of amazing, warm energy. I felt pure and as though life had changed for the better. My whole being "knew" that something had happened.
Later I went to the Zurich Grand temple for a physical initiation as well. This was also an incredible experience. What struck me then and remains to this day is the warmth and friendship and real fraternity of the members whom I met.

To this day, I helped establish a study group in the UK which has developed into a fully grown Sanctuary. The members are working hard to build this further into a Temple. The one person I met in the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn, and who has continually inspired me, is GH Frater PDR. He has become a real mentor and teacher to me and someone for whom I have developed enormous respect, not only as a Mystic and Theurgist but also as a friend.

What is more, our Order encourages use of magic in our daily lives, to help and heal others; to create positive change in the world. I have worked in hospitals for over 18 years now. Most recently I work in the field of forensic psychiatry. I have qualifications in psychological rehabilitation and at masters level in addictions work. I am a parent, I live in England, just outside London and I live a pretty normal life in general I believe and my magical work is a constant inspiration; as are my Fratres and Sorors in the Order. This has helped my mundane life in so many ways. Those words of ancient tradition; to live an ordinary life in a non-ordinary way; are epitomised for me in my life with the addition of that special alchemical ingredient: The Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn."
